Consulting Approach
Every voice and experience has value in the planning and execution of projects. Core to our consulting approach is the need for all work to pass through an Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDI-B) lens. Why is this central to our approach? The world has no shortage of technology solutions. However, when technology solutions are applied they often lack the proper context: cultural, social, environmental, and economic. This lack of context often leads to a disconnect between the stakeholders accessing the value of technology and being able to scale adoption and impact.
Inclusion - The act of creating environments in which any individual or group can be and feel welcomed, respected, supported, and valued. This inclusivity provides space for them to fully participate and bring their authentic selves.
Equity - The guarantee of fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement while at the same time striving to identify and eliminate barriers to participation.
Diversity - Psychological, physical, and social differences that occur among any and all individuals
Belonging - Engages the full potential of the individual where innovation thrives and views, beliefs, and values are integrated.
At Geospatial Equity Tech, we firmly believe that human-centric and empathic consulting approaches in the discovery and scoping phases of any work are critical to set a course towards robust, systemic, and long-term positive change. The world is changing at such a rapid pace, which reinforced the need for an iterative and agile human-centered approach.
Lastly, the unique value of geospatial technology is its power to integrate contextual information from many sources in space and time. This integration of information and the ability to derive, understand, and link, information from many sources affords a depth perception not found in other technology approaches. This depth perception which combines the power of spatial and non-spatial visualization with data integration is a key to guiding the decision-making process towards the right solutions, or at the very least identifying the gaps in knowledge and guiding further data collection opportunities.
