Véronique Couttee-Jenkins (She/Her/Elle)

Véronique Couttee-Jenkins is a prominent GIS and equity specialist renowned for leveraging geospatial technology to drive impactful global conservation and equity initiatives. With a decade of experience in the non-profit sector and a Master’s in Biodiversity, Conservation, and Policy from the Fulbright program, she founded Geospatial Equity Tech (GET), integrating Geospatial Technology, Science, Storytelling, and expertise in Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDI-B) to enhance project outcomes.

As the founder and executive director of the AfriTech Fellowship, Véronique has mentored emerging STEAM leaders across Africa, earning the Women in Tech Advocate Award in 2023 for her contributions. Her conservation work in the Indian Ocean includes managing invasive species and developing strategies for endangered species recovery, such as the Mascarene Paradise Flycatcher project.

Véronique also serves on the boards of Amplify the Future, Key Conservation, and RekoneKT, and excels in designing training programs and interactive maps that promote stakeholder engagement and equitable decision-making. Her communication skills and commitment to social and environmental justice are further demonstrated by her launch of AfriTech, which has empowered 20 African women leaders in digital STEAM fields.
